Social logins now available

zoltan.lehoczky 23 July 2026

Signing in to DotNest just got a little easier. You can now use your existing social account to register and log in, with no need to create and remember another username and password unless you want to.

DotNest now supports signing in with:

  • Microsoft (work or personal account)
  • Google
  • GitHub
  • Facebook

New to DotNest? Simply choose your preferred sign-in provider on the homepage, authorize it, and your account will be created in just a few clicks.

Already have a DotNest account? No problem. If your social account uses the same e-mail address as your existing DotNest account, simply sign in with your chosen provider and you'll be logged into your existing account automatically. There's no need to create a new account or migrate anything manually.

If you're building an ASP.NET Core or Orchard Core application yourself, you can also implement Microsoft sign-in in your own projects. We recently published a step-by-step guide that walks you through the process, from configuring Microsoft Entra ID to integrating authentication into your application: Integrate Microsoft login into your ASP.NET Core or Orchard Core application with ease.

Prefer using a traditional DotNest username and password? That's still fully supported. Social sign-in is entirely optional, and local accounts aren't going anywhere.

Whether you value the convenience of signing in with an existing account or prefer keeping a separate DotNest login, the choice is yours. We hope this small quality-of-life improvement makes getting started with DotNest just a bit faster.
